A wonderful stay with great hosts. They are very helpful and always nearby. The inn is secure and
offers a family atmosphere. Jana's homemade muffins are spectacular.

Hotel Lula's was outstanding. The family who owns and runs the hotel (Bryan, Jana, and Tyler) go
out of their way to create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The plants and decorations on
the first floor porch are a weclome greeting. The second floor porch is perfect for mingling,
watching the sun set, or just lazing in the hammock (which I did quite a bit).
The rooms are very clean and tidy and each breakfast is excellent--very fresh fruit and try the
mango butter.
The book exchange is a nice touch and the owners are very helpful with advice about the town and how
to maneuver about--like catching a taxi.
With a doubt, Hotel Lula's is the best bed and breakfast experience I have ever had.

My girlfriend and I just spent 15 days in Panama....some great, some not so great. We started our
trip in Bocas Del Toro and were fortunate to have a friend tell us about Hotel LuLa's. (Thanks
Craig!)
As soon as we arrived, Jana welcomed us and we can immediately sense that this was going to be a
great place to stay. Bryan and Jana are not only helpful, courteous and friendly, but they are what
I consider to be "good people".
The hotel is VERY clean, very reasonably priced, and its perfectly located just a short walk to the
main street in Bocas.
Needless to say, we didn't want to leave Bocas and 90% of the reason was Hotel Lula's.
After we left, we traveled to Boquete, Contadora, and Panama City and nothing compared to Bryan and
Jana and their perfect B&B.

Hotel Lula's B & B is a great place to stay, at an excellent price! It's in a nice location too, in
a quieter part of Bocas Town. Near the water, and within easy walking distance of the Bocas Yoga
studio. The owners are very hospitable and make you feel welcome. There's free Wi-fi.
Air-conditioned rooms, and a book exchange. Clean rooms. Breakfast included. :) Very convenient
is the surf school right there!

When my wife and I were researching where to stay in Bocas del Toro, a friend of a friend suggested
Lula's. We are glad we listened to their advice.

Lula's is a comfortable place located slightly away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Bocas.
The rooms are comfortable and have plenty of hot water (a rarity in Bocas!), AC, private bath, and
a nice Caribbean charm (at very reasonable rates). The hotel has a beautiful deck overlooking the
water and an honor bar on the back deck. They also provide free WiFi. It was obvious that the
owner's (Bryan and Janna) take great pride in their hotel--everything is spotless and my
understanding is that they did an incredible job of renovating the property from its previously
run-down condition.

They provide a nice breakfast (included in the price) which includes eggs or pancakes, fresh fruit,
toast, and killer Panamanian coffee.

The staff is wonderful and very accomodating, and Janna and Bryan are extremely friendly and very
knowledgable about what to do in Bocas del Toro.

Last winter I recommended Lula's to about a dozen of my relatives and they all had a wonderful time.
I would strongly recommend Lula's to anyone staying in bocas.

Our stay in Bocas was great. The breakfast was incredible and the rooms at Lula's were perfect. Very
clean and usable. Having a chance to sit on the balcony and share a drink and conversation with
other travelers was a big plus.

We wanted to try scuba diving. The owners made arrangements with a local dive shop to get the
training and rentals at an incredible price. We also got lots of information about the area from
them. In short, Bryan and Jana treated us like family.

Stay at Lula's. It's the best value you'll find in Bocas.

I stayed at Lula's for 3 weeks in February - March for a solo surf trip. I was looking for a hotel
that was on the water, far enough from town to escape the noise and reasonable in price. Since I was
traveling alone this time, I also wanted a place with a social vibe.

Lula's was the best compromise of my criteria. The only thing that Lula's didn't offer was a
location directly on the water. However, the hotel is directly across the street from the water and
has direct access to a dock by way of an agreement with the neighboring hotel. Not being right on
the water turned out to be just fine as I was in or on the water 10 hours of every day anyway.

The balcony of the hotel turned out to be a great place to mingle with other guests. The little
guest kitchen was perfect for storing snacks and sandwich makings. Breakfast was incredible. I had
to stop eating it every morning because it was too rich and luxurious for this surf bum. Delicious
eggs, pancakes, johnny cakes, fresh fruit, juice and the best coffee in Bocas... seriously.

The rooms were perfect. Ok, so when you are sitting on the latrine, your knees might touch the
walls, but believe me when I say that you will be hard pressed to find a better shower or bed in the
whole of Panama. Also, the hotel is spotless. I mean like military spotless. The friendly local
Panamanian girls who cook and clean the place were constantly making sure that the hotel was
impeccable. They clearly care about their jobs and the Hudsons treat them like family.

I have stayed at other hotels in Bocas during my three trips to the area over the past 5 years. In
many Bocas hotels of similar cost, the walls are moldy, there are rats and gnarly bugs (not just
normal Bocas bugs), the noise can be unbearable and the staff can be incredibly unaccommodating and
rude. Not at Lula's.

Bryan, Jana and Tyler are the best hosts ever. They made me feel like part of their family. We went
out to dinner together on a couple of occasions. Tyler and I went surfing, mountain bike riding, and
scuba diving together. We even had a couple of beers at local happy hours. If I was late coming back
from surfing the Hudson's would ask around to see if I had come in. It was nice knowing that someone
would be aware if I disappeared. The Hudsons also have deep local knowledge and constantly strive to
improve the lives of the local Panamanians in the area.

If you want to spend $150 per night and be removed from the local culture and people, you might be
able to find a more luxurious hotel. For $60 a night, Lula's can not be beat. I have recommended
this hotel to my friends and they have come away with the same great experiences.

Book it!

Lula's B&B is more than we could have hoped for. It's warm, welcoming, and very clean. We felt
completely comfortable walking in the door. Still, as nice as the place is, the owners Bryan and
Jana really made our stay wonderful. They were quick to offer tips and advice, and the sea kayaking
adventure Bryan suggested was the best part of our trip. We highly recommend Lula's to anyone
visiting Bocas del Toro.
