We Need Your Help!

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Hola Guide is a community-based website. Consequently, that means we need your help to build our database of information! It doesn’t matter if you own a business or not – anyone can add listings to our database. To get started, create an account and then create a listing. It’s that simple.

Users can create Basic listings for free, to promote businesses, organizations, places, properties, events, etc. Business owners can opt to create Premium listings to showcase their organizations and advertise their business throughout our site. For more information on the differences between Basic and Premium listings, click here.

All users can review ANY listing on Gringoville. Do you have a favorite business you’d like to support? Find their listing (or create one for them) and write them a nice review! Organizations with the highest reviews will show up on our Hola Guide home page.

Hola Guide Is Born!

Monday, March 30th, 2009

After a year+ of brainstorming, planning, development and testing, Hola Guide is finally here!

In a nutshell, Hola Guide was designed to connect tourists, expats and locals with businesses in Central America.  For more information about the site and our mission, please visit the About page.

We’re currently testing Hola Guide in Bocas Del Toro, Panama.  Since Hola Guide is primarily an information directory, our first order of business is to collect a wealth of information about local businesses and organizations here in Bocas Del Toro.   Once we’ve got a good base of useful stuff on Hola Guide, we’ll begin marketing the site to tourists, expats and locals in a variety of different ways.

Thanks to everyone who has helped Hola Guide get to this point.  Specifically, big thanks go out to my family and Lena for being supportive and encouraging throughout this entire process.   Also, thanks to the folks over at Exygy Web Apps for helping Hola Guide come to life.
