Why should I create a personal account?

With a personal Hola Guide account you can:

• Create a listing for your business or organization
• Create listings for other businesses or organizations
• Write reviews for local businesses or organizations with which you're familiar
• Keep track of your favorite businesses and organizations by subscribing to announcements

Why do I need to create an account in order to write a review?

The Hola Guide community relies on personal and professional accountability. Consequently, in order to write a review for an organization, we require that users have a valid Hola Guide personal account.

We believe that if non-registered users were allowed to write reviews, a good deal of our credibility would be lost. We hope you understand.

Do I have to use my real name when creating a personal account?

Hola Guide only works if the information it provides is real and accurate. While it is not required that users submit their real names when creating personal accounts, we highly recommend it.

If you don't feel comfortable using your real name for personal reasons, we understand. However, if we get the sense that users are creating false accounts and leaving inaccurate reviews, we will not hesitate to take action to ensure that the integrity and accountability of the Hola Guide community remains intact.

What is the difference between a Premium listing account and a Basic listing account?

Quite a bit actually!

The bottom line is the Hola Guide Premium listings are a great way for businesses of any size to affordably promote online and attract new customers.

How does Hola Guide make money?

Hola Guide makes money by charging businesses for the right to create Premium listing accounts. Premium listing accounts are designed to promote and advertise local businesses.

Hola Guide is and will remain totally and completely free for consumers.

How does Hola Guide benefit local community non-profit organizations?

Hola Guide benefits local community non-profit organizations in two ways. First, we allow non-profits to create free Premium listing accounts on Hola Guide. Secondly, we donate 5% of our revenues directly back to local community non-profit organizations.

Supporting Hola Guide means supporting local non-profits!

How are the Hola Guide listings ranked?

Hola Guide listings are ranked using four different metrics:

• Highest Rated (explanation below)
• Most Reviews (most reviews per listing)
• Most Popular (most page views per listing)
• Most Recent (most recently added to Hola Guide)

Hola Guide employs a proprietary ranking system (Highest Rated) based on the quantity of reviews and overall review score for each specific listing. If your business or organization has a high review score, but few reviews, it may not show up on our Top Listings or Featured Listings rankings.

What if my business or organization doesn't fit into one of your existing categories or subcategories?

Don't worry -- we fully expect that our current categorization system may need to expand and change as the Hola Guide site grows. If your business or organization doesn't fit neatly into one of our existing categories or subcategories, please contact us, and we'll work with you to categorize your listing correctly.

If you're in the middle of creating a listing and don't see a category or subcategory that fits, just pick the closest category or subcategory and we'll help you change it later.

What if someone leaves an unfair or inaccurate review on my Premium listing?

If you're the owner of a Premium listing account and feel that someone has left an unfair or inaccurate review of your business or organization, please contact us.

We'll do our best to resolve the situation, by doing one or more of the following:

• Asking the reviewer to justify their comments
• Asking the reviewer to rewrite his or her review in a more professional manner
• Removing the review altogether

Unfortunately, sometimes negative reviews are part of doing business. You can't please everyone all the time. Hola Guide makes no promises that we will remove or restate any negative reviews.

We will however, do our best to resolve all disputes in a matter that is consistently fair and unbiased to both businesses and consumers.

Why isn't Hola Guide in my city/community?

Good question! We'd like to be all over Central America in the near future, helping users figure out where to go, what to eat, what to do and where to stay.

Currently, we're targeting Bocas Del Toro, Panama as our initial community. Once we've got the major kinks worked out, we'll be opening the site to anyone and everyone in Central America that wants to promote his or her business or organization through Hola Guide.
