Hotel Lula's B & B is a great place to stay, at an excellent price! It's in a nice location too, in a quieter part of
Bocas Town. Near the water, and within easy walking distance of the Bocas Yoga studio. The owners are very hospitable
and make you feel welcome. There's free Wi-fi. Air-conditioned rooms, and a book exchange. Clean rooms. Breakfast
included. :) Very convenient is the surf school right there!

I'm a regular at Tropical Markets, shopping there are least 3 times per week. I go for the fresh produce. As a
vegetarian I don't know what I'd do on this island without the fresh produce I get here. Wonderful lettuces (romaine,
endive, butter lettuce, etc.) and other fresh veggies. Fresh mushrooms. They also have the non-sweetened soy milk that
I love. Fresh herbs too. Yummmm...

I shop at Super Gourmet about 3 times per week. I don't know what I'd do without it. As a vegetarian, I find the
normal grocery stores a bit challenging, so Super Gourmet offers many specialty items that make living and eating here
more pleasant. Good cheeses, olives, Balsamic vinegar, etc. There's also a deli that makes sandwiches and salads,
which is great for boat trips. :) They always have good music on too!

This is the hotel I have all visiting friends and family stay at. I love it for many reasons. For one, it's VERY
reasonabley priced, compared to other waterfront hotels in Bocas. Yes, it's waterfront, with a HUGE covered veranda,
sundeck and private dock. So, even on rainy Bocas days, when there is nothing else to do (besides yoga at the Bocas
Yoga studio) one can easily pass the day relaxing on the veranda gazing out at the amazing ocean view or reading a book,
lazing in a hammock. There is also a lovely garden. There are only 4 rooms in the B&B so it's nice and intimate. The
free breakfast is big! I often just go over there and hang out because it's so relaxing.

The Casbah is right across the street from my house/yoga studio, so it's perfect for me to go over there after yoga
class for a big bowl of Gazpacho. Yum! It hits the spot. Christopher is known to run the cleanest kitchen in Bocas.
He's wonderfully accomodating for my vegetarian tastes. He'll make me a huge plate of nothing but sauteed veggies. The
eggplant is very savory. The goat cheese salad is great too. :)

Going to Island Time Thai restaurant is fun on all counts. The water-taxi ride to Isla Bastimentos, the 10-minute
jungle walk to the restaurant, and then the amazing view once you get there. The food is wonderful, and reminds me of
my travels to Thailand. The owners are super nice and accomodating. The restaurant is private and intimate. The deck
amid the jungle, overlooking the water, is just amazing. The vegetarian Pad Thai is great - the peanut sauce is
delicious! The mixed sauteed veggies are also yummy.... :) Try the Thai iced-tea! It's not sweetened, so it's
perfect as it is. You can add honey or sugar if you want.

It's a burger joint, but even vegetarians can find lots to make them full. The stuffed peppers are yummy - stuffed with
garlic and cheese, in a sauce made of fresh tomatoes. The fresh batidas (fruit smoothies) are wonderful too. Great
location, right on the water. Peaceful view. The owners offer bug repellant if you forgot yours.

I've only had delivery from Pizza Libre, but it's always amazing. Tons of vegetarian options in creative combiniations
(try the Madre Teresa pizza with pears, walnuts, & goat cheese). The delivery is fast and arrives hot and fresh. Viva
Libre! :)

Thank goodness for the Om Cafe in Bocas! Since returning from India, I often go to Om Cafe to get my fix of Indian
food. Lots of vegetarian options for me. Authentic cuisine. Try the Thali - you can't go wrong! Groovy music, mango
lassis, and entertment sitting at the balcony and watching the sunset or the cast of characters in the street below
(look for the airplane guy). Om Cafe is the perfect compliment to Bocas Yoga! :) Yummmm...

El Ultimo Refugio is a Bocas tradition! We often like to go there after Yoga or Belly Dance class. The world-class
chef, Katherine, is a wizard in the kitchen. I'm a strict vegetarian, and although her restaurant is for all types of
palates (carnivorous alike) she is very accomodating toward me, making wonderfully huge, creative salads, sauteed
veggies, casseroles, etc. Try the garlic mashed potatoes. Yummm... It's also fun to go there for live music. Dinner
a sunset on the waterfront can't be beat! :)
