The newest restaurant in Bocas (at the time of this writing), Taberna offers excellent Spanish style Tapas, Paella, and great Sangria. The waitstaff/owner are very friendly and always available to provide ordering advice. It is very obvious that the owner takes great pride in his new establishment. The atmosphere is eclectic-outdoor seating with grapes hanging from the rafters and barrel tile transport you to a Spanish tavern. An old school bus, completely gutted and decorated with tables and beautifully decorated offers air conditioned dining. At the southern tip of town, Taberna is slightly off the beaten path, but well worth the 5 minute walk to get there.

This is without a doubt the best restaurant in Bocas del Toro. A husband and wife team (he is the waitstaff, she is the chef) provide a beautiful six course meal. The food and the service is incredible. They make you feel as if you are the only diners in the restaurant and I can say that each course is gourmet quality. The presentation and atmosphere are fabulous and plan on spending a couple of hours savoring your meal. It is across the street from Cabaña Beach, so the sound of the waves on the beach only add to the atmosphere. For a romantic dinner, this is the place! Reservations are required and when you call they will ask if you have any foods allergies because it is a fixed menu. They will cater to vegetarians, so let them know when you call. Dinner is $19 per person, but this meal would easily run $50-$60 in the States.

Great burgers! My wife had the Thai soup and she said it was to die for. George (the bar tender) is a real character and a pleasure to talk to. Nice island atmosphere. We've eaten there a few times and always had a great experience.

Excellent food, great service, and a beautiful location make for a very nice dining experience. A little high priced for Bocas, but for a special dining event well worth the money.

Pizza Libre has a great pizza menu and being able to have pizza delivered to your hotel room is a big plus. The pizza was good and was delivered piping hot.
